Federation Update!
June 29, 2010Only moments ago Starfleet vessels have made contact with a race claiming to have arrived from the Triangulum Galaxy. The unidentified vessel appeared in the Neutral Zone hailing all ships within the area. A nearby Starfleet vessel answered that hail and has since docked with the alien craft. Several ambassadors going by the collective name "Idolians" have expressed a desire to meet with Milky Way Galaxy representatives. This amazing intergalactic contact of course comes at a pivotal time for the Federation, as peace negotiations are under way with the Romulans, who have also sent an envoy to greet the Idolians. So far we've learned that the Idolians are a corporeal species that live in the Gamma Quadrant of the Triangulum Galaxy. Surprisingly they have humanoid characteristics, in that they are bipedal, warm blooded, and resemble something a of a bluish female human. Recently,their race has discovered means to transport themselves at speeds which can traverse galactic boundaries in mere minutes. With this newfound technology their government has sent two teams of ambassadors to contact civilizations in the far reaching Milky Way Galaxy. The reason for choosing our galaxy, over the closer Andromeda, they say is due to the knowledge that beings on a starship briefly entered their galaxy years ago. We believe they are referring to the incident in which "the Traveler" accidentally sent the Enterprise into Triangulum space. Ever since that event a small following of Idolians has been working on ways to reach their intergalactic cousins, us! One on this day they succeeded. All high ranking members of the Federation council, as well as the President herself, are currently en route to meet with the Idolians just outside the Neutral Zone in Federation Space. The historic peace negotiations with the Romulans, currently being held during this equally historic moment, have been postponed until further notice. So far the only public announcement released to the news departments from the Idolians is the following "We come in the thoughts of peace and friendship, our minds open to new worlds. Come let us be one." We expect to hear more within the hour as the Federation representatives near the meeting spot. ~ Transmission End.
